Apply to Serve on the Snohomish County Climate Action Advisory Committee
Snohomish County is seeking community members to serve on the Climate Action Advisory Committee, which advises the County on policies and strategies related to climate resilience, greenhouse gas reductions, public health, and protection of our natural environment.
The County is currently recruiting to fill six open positions and is looking for applicants with a wide range of backgrounds, lived experiences, professions, and perspectives from across Snohomish County.
Committee members work with County staff and community partners to help shape local climate and sustainability initiatives, from renewable energy and transportation to forests, waterways, and community resilience.
The first round of applications will be reviewed beginning September 1, so interested residents are encouraged to learn more and apply as soon as possible.

The Climate Alliance of Snohomish County (CASC) is a coalition of nonprofits, faith groups, and individuals representing thousands of members, working together to address climate change in our sector of Washington State. The Alliance works collaboratively to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote clean energy, and protect our environment. We accomplish this by collectively advocating for policies and laws that fight climate change and which create a climate-safe future for Snohomish County.
This coalition is a partnership among our member organizations for nonpartisan purposes, although coalition partners may not always be nonpartisan. Please note that membership in this coalition does not automatically confer endorsement of an issue or policy.
Climate Alliance Annual Gathering
Leaders from approximately 20 local environmental organizations attended the recent annual networking event of the Climate Alliance of Snohomish County. Groups displayed materials about their work, while attendees explored the displays and discussed the work involved. Small group discussions explored topics such as forests, water, and land use as related to climate. Tom Murdoch of the NW Stream Center gave a brief talk about progress there. A potluck dinner topped it off.

The Climate Alliance of Snohomish County is currently made up of twenty-six member organizations, each engaged in addressing one or more issues related to climate change.
Additional organizations are welcome to seek membership.
